CAPTAIN
- Mark Thompson
Mark Thompson
is a RYA / DOT Commercial Yachtmaster with experience
in the Caribbean, European, and Australian waters.
He started sailing twenty years ago as a crew member
on board cruising and racing yachts in Australia.
In 1994 he left Australia and a career in property
development to pursue a life within the marine leisure
industry. Since gaining his Yachtmaster qualifications,
he has worked in Turkey, France, Spain, and the
Caribbean. Mark is a certified PADI open diver and
an expert water skier along with having an
interest and experience in other water sports. He
is a professional captain, but still maintains a
fun and enthusiastic approach to life and his
responsibilities.
Chef and First Mate - Jane Shackel
Jane Shackel left her home country of New Zealand
in 1991 to travel the world. Always drawn to the sea, she eventuallycharters

Jane Shackel
left her home country of New Zealand in 1991 to
travel the world. Always drawn to the sea, she eventually
found Mark in a marina in Turkey. Together they
have worked in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean
aboard private and charter yachts. Jane's cooking
expertise has been all self-taught with a great
deal of influence from the many countries through
which she has traveled. She draws extensively from
New Zealand and Australian culinary trends with
all meals tending to be low fat yet appetizing with
wholesome flavors. Jane loves the water and most
things in it, plus she enjoys a variety of activities
from snorkeling to sky diving.
